Obo GateLog watches your existing gate camera and recognises the face of every person who walks through it. Staff get an in and an out time without touching anything, and a customer who has been here before is recognised as the same customer โ not as a new stranger.

What it does for you
Every office with a gate keeps asking the same three questions: โwho came in, when did they leave, and have we seen this person before?โ
No register at the door, no card to tap, no fingerprint to press. The IN camera writes the first entry, the OUT camera writes the last exit, and the day is complete before anyone thinks about it โ including the people who slipped past the register on their way out.
Nothing to remember, nothing to touchA face that is not on your staff list becomes a guest โ and when that person comes back next month, they land on the same record, not a new one. You can see at a glance that this is their fifth visit, when they first came and how long they usually stay.
One person, one recordOne mail each evening: who was present, who was absent, who came in late, which guests were new and which came back โ and, honestly, the hours the app or the recorder was switched off, so a quiet day can never be mistaken for an empty one.
Reads in a minute, no login neededThe hard part, solved
A camera at a gate never gets four identical photographs of a face. It gets one looking down, one side-on, one half in shadow. Most systems file those as different people โ so a regular customer quietly turns into a pile of records. Obo GateLog folds them back into one.
After every batch of footage it has just watched, the app re-checks the whole guest list and merges the records that are really one person. You do not have to notice the problem or go looking for it.
A merge keeps every visit, every face and every photo on the record that survives, and two records of one arrival collapse into one visit โ not two. You can also merge by hand from the Guests page; it tells you what it will do and asks first.
When a familiar visitor turns out to be staff โ a new joiner, a contractor who stayed โ move the record to Employees in one click. Their faces and their history come with them.
How it works
Set it up once. After that nobody does anything at all.
Give it the DVR's address and login, press Test Connection and you get a snapshot back. Then name each camera and say what it means: IN or OUT.
Add each employee with a few face photos โ from a folder, from a video, or straight off the live camera. Faces the app has already collected can be assigned in bulk.
The recorder tells the app when something moved; the app queues that window and recognises the faces in it. Nobody has to sit and watch a screen.
Attendance, guests and reports are on screen as they happen โ and the summary is mailed to you each evening.
Features
One ordinary PC on the same network as the recorder. No server rack, no GPU, no monthly bill.
Each camera carries a meaning โ a sighting on the entrance is an arrival, one at the main exit or the back door is a departure. Several cameras can share the same meaning.
Motion at the gate queues that window of footage, and the app recognises it from the DVR's own recording โ so a busy minute is never lost to a dropped frame.
Switch the PC on after a long weekend and it works through the footage it has not seen yet, oldest first, instead of pretending those days never happened.
Any unknown face on the way in becomes a guest record with its own photos and visit history โ and returning visitors land back on the record they already have.
Present and absent, first in and last out, per department, for any date โ on screen and exported to CSV that opens straight in Excel.
Attendance, late arrivals and the day's guests, mailed to the admins each evening at a time you choose. Preview it before you switch it on.
If the app was closed or the recorder was off, those hours are recorded as an outage and printed at the top of the report. An empty day is never quietly reported as a day nobody came.
Any window in the queue can be downloaded as an mp4 straight from the DVR at full speed, with a real progress bar โ then saved to your PC for the file the police or HR asked for.
Build a person from a folder of photos, from a video, from the live camera, or from the crops the app has already collected โ and let it suggest which unnamed faces belong together.
Everything sits behind a login. Admins get cameras, settings, users and attendance; everyone else gets the day-to-day screens. Forgotten passwords are reset with a one-time link.
Recognition, the database and the whole web interface run on your own machine. No cloud account, no uploads โ the faces of your staff and your customers never leave the building.
It serves an ordinary web page, so the security desk, HR and the owner can each open it in a browser โ on the LAN, or from outside if you forward the port.
What it plugs into
Obo GateLog is software. It talks to the recorder that is already on your wall over the standard protocols it already speaks โ there is no new hardware to buy and no camera to re-mount.
Install it on one PC, point it at your recorder and enroll ten people. By tomorrow evening you will have a day's attendance nobody marked and a guest list nobody wrote โ and you will know within a week whether it fits your site.
