OboTrans listens to your call and shows what the caller says as subtitles in your language โ and can read it aloud in your headset. Switch on your own voice and what you say reaches the caller in their language.
Windows 10 / 11 desktop app ยท works with WhatsApp, Teams, Phone Link and other call apps ยท runs on your own PC, no cloud
What it does for you
Customers, suppliers and field staff call in the language they are comfortable with. OboTrans lets you answer every one of them yourself.
What the caller says appears in large, clear subtitles a moment after they say it โ in English, Tamil or Hindi, whichever you read best. The whole call collects in a transcript you can scroll back through.
No language barrier on the lineSpeak normally in your own language. OboTrans turns your words into the caller's language and speaks them into the call in a clear Windows voice โ so the caller hears Hindi, Tamil or English, not you struggling for words.
Both sides understoodSpeech is heard and translated on the PC itself. No call audio is sent to any cloud service, no account is needed, and nothing is charged per minute.
Your calls never leave the buildingHow it works
Install once. After that you just open OboTrans before a call.
One setup program brings the app, the speech models and the audio helpers it needs. Restart Windows once when it asks.
Start the window, then make or answer your call in WhatsApp, Teams, Phone Link or any other call app. OboTrans finds the call by itself.
Each thing the caller says shows as a subtitle in your language โ and is read aloud in your headset if you want.
With Translate on, what you say is sent to the caller in their language. Press it off to say a number or a name in your own voice.
Features
Everything runs on one ordinary Windows PC with a headset.
The caller can speak any of the three, and you can read and speak any of the three. Pick "Auto" and OboTrans works out which one is being spoken.
Each translated line can be spoken to you in a male or female voice, with the caller's own voice turned down underneath so you hear both.
Turn your own translation off for a moment to read out an amount, a phone number or a product name in your own voice โ then back on.
The Namaste button tells the caller, in their language, that you are using a translation app. While your reply is being prepared, a short "one second, please" keeps the line from sounding dead.
Words like licence, software, invoice, server and renewal are kept as people actually say them on a call, not replaced by bookish translations.
Rude words are left out and replies use the respectful form, in both directions โ so a hurried line never sounds rude to your customer.
Every line of the call is kept in the window; copy it with one click. Press REC to save the call's sound and subtitles to check later.
The Small speech model shows each line in about a second; download the Medium model from Settings when you want more words right.
Always-on-top subtitle window with bigger or smaller text, a dark theme for long calls and a light theme for bright rooms.
Once installed, OboTrans needs no internet of its own. The call app needs it, the translator does not.
Your calls
OboTrans listens to what your PC plays and what your microphone hears, so there is nothing to connect and no plug-in to install.
Install it on one PC, open the window and call a colleague who speaks Hindi or Tamil. Within a few minutes you will know whether it fits the way you work.
